Central London based, hybrid working available (3 days per week in the office). This is a maternity contract cover for around 9-12 months.
We’re hiring a senior purchasing manager to oversee our non-food products and services. You’ll be responsible for delivering the best quality and price items, such as packaging, equipment and small wears for our UK&I estate, including sustainability and net zero impact. You’ll also have the opportunity support other functions to deliver campaigns and promotions for key trading times of the year and events. This highly collaborative role will work closely with our marketing, brand, design and restaurant operational teams, along with wider supply chain peers.
Responsibilities:
Develop the non-food categories and its strategic plans
Support delivery of our sustainability and net zero targets
Delivery of improved commercials by adopting strong procurement practices, and propose innovative solutions through effective suppliers, products, and contract management.
Organise tenders/e-auctions
Spend in control c. £10m per annum
Stakeholder management, both internal and external, inc. supplier and distributor management and contract negotiation
Oversee the implementation of the category plan to ensure that the procurement activities deliver the expected business value
Researching and identifying products and added value suppliers following strategic sourcing practices
Monitoring and forecasting stock levels of products within the categories, liaising with internal distribution function and distributors to maximise availability.
Managing various service contracts to deliver our KPIs
Your Skills and Experience:
Extensive experience in a similar role, ideally within hospitality, foodservice or a buying organisation in a purchasing/supply chain function
Strong analytical, numerical skills and commercial acumen
Excellent negotiation skills
Ability to implement excellent procurement practices, manage large volume of data and information
Planning and project management skills
Excellent relation management and influencing skills
Strong Excel/Microsoft Office skills
Speaking a second language would be a great skill to have for this role
CIPS or working toward is an advantage
National/international travel to suppliers and trade show required
